Cádiz, Spain (PortSEurope) April 13, 2018 – Cádiz mayor José María González, and the president of the Cádiz port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Cádiz), José Luis Blanco, signed a cooperation agreement to connect by rail the harbour’s container terminal.
González explained that with the signing of this agreement, the two sides aim to promote the rail connection to the container terminal to expedite transport and make the port of Cádiz more competitive.
“This was a demand from the transport sector, as well as a priority for this municipality, since by making the port of Cádiz more attractive to shipping companies we can guarantee, give stability and improve employment,” he noted.
