Cartagena, Spain (PortSEurope) May 18, 2017 – The Spanish city of Murcia hosted last week the “Waste management and circular economy” conference, organised by the European Environment Agency (EEA).
The event included the participation of Rafael Cano, responsible for the sustainability policy of Cartagena port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Cartagena). During the day the normative and technological conditions of the current situation of the municipal waste management in Spain were analysed, as well as the policies in force and those that are susceptible of being implemented by the competent administrations.
The session also dealt with issues such as European funding and legislation, prevention, recycling, the future of the waste levy, innovation in recycling, etc..
