Castellón, Spain (PortSEurope) April 13, 2018 – The strategy launched by Castellón port to boost cruise tourism is bearing fruit, as reported by the port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón) in a statement.
A new call is added to the schedule for 2019, that of the ship Crystal Esprit, of shipping company Crystal Cruises. Consigned by Roca Castellón, this cruise will accommodate 71 passengers and 91 crew members.
Castellón port is enabling a quay in the interior dock for its call, as it is a luxury cruise of 85 metres in length. In this way, cruise passengers can access the port directly without the need of a means of transport.
The call is added to the four planned by Marella Cruises and the one confirmed by Oceania Cruises and, therefore, the number cruise ships scheduled for 2019 is raised to six.
This remarkable increase in the number of calls – which until now had never exceeded two annually – is the result of the new strategy promoted by the Castellón port authority through Castellón Cruise Club.
