Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) April 6, 2018 – A delegation of the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee will visit Florence April 4-6, 2018.
The visit will include in field-visits to companies (technological hub), meetings with small local producers, multinational brands businesses, local and national authorities, consumers’ associations and experts on the issue of the “quality of products”, exchange of views on the “made in” and market surveillance and a field-visit to the port of Livorno (meetings with customs authorities on customs controls, fight against counterfeiting and on the role of ports and customs as key players to defend the integrity of the single market).
This includes visiting Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority).
The region of Tuscany is one of the most important industrial regions in Europe, well-known for its manufacturing and its agricultural products.
Members participating in the delegation are committee chair Anneleen Van Bossuyt (ECR, BE), who will head the delegation, Lara Comi (EPP, IT), Andreas Schwab (EPP, DE), Nicola Danto (S&D, IT) and Jasenko Selimovic (ALDE, SE).
