La Spezia, Italy (PortSEurope) January 12, 2018 – Port Community La Spezia, an organisation that brings together the associations of shipping agents, shippers and customs agents, has asked the president of the Harbour Authority of the Ligurian Sea and La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT), the company that manages the container terminal on the Fornelli and Ravano docks, for the convening of a roundtable aimed at discussing capacity development projects.
“The reason is no other but the real and concrete need of operators to be properly informed and in turn to keep customers informed so as to avoid the risk of overlap of interventions and therefore of concrete damages to the productivity and the credibility of the port,” the president of the association of La Spezia shipping agents, Andrea Fontana, said. According to the port community of La Spezia, it is necessary to clarify the state of planning and execution of the works, to avoid “learning only from the newspapers the existence of a programme of new works,” she noted.
LSCT is part of Contship Italia.
La Spezia port is part of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Orientale (Eastern Ligurian Sea Port Authority).
