Motril, Spain (PortSEurope) February 12, 2018 – Motril port plans to undertake this year investments of more than €4 million ($4.9 million) this year in the overhaul of its facilities, as well as in the enabling of new service areas.
The investments will come from the own funds of the Motril port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Motril), as well as from private companies committed to the execution of some projects.
The president of the port authority, Francisco Álvarez de la Chica, explained that among the projects is the construction of new units for the police station, worth €400,000 ($490,000).
Álvarez de la Chica has explained that the bulk of the investment, of €2 million ($2.4 million), will be focused on the area of logistics activities (ZAL). The port authority plans to enable a space for the construction of a new parking for trucks with capacity for more than 300 large vehicles.
