Santander, Spain (PortSEurope) November 8, 2017 – The works of the new direct link to Santander port from the A-67 road will be tendered before the end of 2017, with a budget of €31 million ($36 million), and will last for two years, Public Works Minister Íñigo de la Serna said.
The objective of this project is to provide a solution to the problems that are generated in the accesses to the port and at the same time to decongest the node with the highest traffic intensity of the entire road network of Cantabria.
The work has become more expensive from the initial approach because it has opted for the construction of a raised roundabout that will offer “the maximum security guarantees”.
De la Serna recalled that the launch of the second phase of the development Santander Coated Solution facility at the port will cause “even more vehicle traffic” at the accesses to the harbour.
