Hamburg, Germany (PortSEurope) September 11, 2017 – Spanish company Boluda Corporación Marítima has held a naming ceremony for four tugboats of its German subsidiary Lütgens & Reimers at Hamburg port on August 31.
The company intends to deliver a total of 18 tugboats to the German subsidiary and will operate them at a total of six German harbours, Boluda Corporación Marítima said.
The four tugboats, christened “VB Prompt”, “VB Perfect”, “VB Rasant” and “VB Resolut”, are of the ASD Tug 2411 model and were built by Dutch-based Damen shipyards. The vessels are equipped with two Caterpillar engines and are specialised in port, offshore and marine salvage.
The acquisition is in line with the geographical expansion and fleet renewal and enlargement plan Boluda Towage and Salvage has been undertaking over recent years. With these six German ports Boluda strengthens the service it provides in Europe, as well as on the west coast of Africa, the Indian Ocean, Latin America and the Caribbean, operating in a total of 95 ports with a fleet of 250 vessels.
