Las Palmas, Spain (PortSEurope) May 14, 2018 – The Spanish government supports the proposal of Juan José Cardona as president of Las Palmas port authority.
Juan José Cardona González holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. From 1986 to 1990 he practised law at the Artiles de Córdoba Law Firm, and that year he joined as a partner and head of the Legal Department, specialised in Transport, at the OMF Legal and Tax Advisory.
Cardona has also been Secretary General of the Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs of Las Palmas and the Canary Confederation of Employers; member of the National Association of Transport Entrepreneurs (FENEBUS), general director and director of the Santana Cazorla Group and president of the Anfi Group.
As for his professional experience in the public sector, Juan José Cardona has been a councillor and deputy mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, as well as advisor to the port authority.
From 2011 to 2015 Cardona was mayor of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
