Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) October 19, 2017 – Valencia port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia) attends today and tomorrow the ECG Conference, an annual meeting of the European Vehicle Logistics Association in Brussels, which brings together logistical operators, ports, suppliers, manufacturers and members of the European Commission.
The logistics services manager, Fatima Zayed, attends this meeting on behalf of the port authority as a member of the association that works to promote and defend the interests of logistics operators and suppliers in the automotive sector in Europe. Among its tasks, ECG facilitates non-commercial collaboration among its members and promotes best practices in operational areas, especially in the harmonisation of operational standards.
The ECG, which celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year, is carrying out training, awareness-raising, integration and networking among its partners, with the aim of establishing a common platform to support the vehicle logistics industry in Europe. Valencia port is specialised in the trade of vehicles. It has a million square metres at the service of the automobile industry, of which 412,000 are located in Valencia and 560,000 in Sagunto.
