Venice, Italy (PortSEurope) April 20, 2018 – An exceptional transport consisting of four hydrotreating reactors, for a total of 1,532 tonnes, has passed through Venice port to Bandar Abbas, Iran.
The reactors will be used in a refinery for removing sulphur from diesel oil. “The port of Venice is confirmed as the leading port of call in Italy in the project cargo sector,” said Pino Musolino, President of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Settentrionale (AdSP – Northern Adriatic Sea Port Authority). “Only in 2017, in fact, over 850 large loads were handled here”.
The delicate phase of handling of the reactors took place through road and river transport starting from the port of Cremona, using special road carriages, a crane with a lifting capacity of 500 tonnes, barges and river pusher.
