A total of 15 initiatives have participated in the first edition of Ports 4.0, with the support of the Port Authority, of which 11 have been provisionally admitted by the Technical Committee for the Evaluation of State Ports – April 13, 2021 Ideas and Projects The call is divided into three modalities: ideas, pre-commercial projects and commercial projects, in which currently, the initiatives supported by
the Malaga Port Authority that have been admitted for processing are integrated. The proposals accepted for evaluation focus on the digitization of port activity; environmental management solutions to improve the port-city relationship; and the promotion of the logistics-port sector through innovation systems. The commitment made by the Port of Malaga to promote the development and modernization of the port area, respecting the environment and complying with the principles set by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, could continue to materialize through these public funds, whose Resolution is expected in the coming months. Ports 4.0 This pioneering program of Puertos del Estado and Port Authorities promotes innovation and improvement in the logistics-port ecosystem through new technologies that allow a sustainable, competitive, efficient and safe development of port activity. For the first time, ports and their port community have the opportunity to be direct beneficiaries of the projects that fall under the umbrella of this program and, if the ideas and projects presented are chosen, they will favor a qualitative leap in modernity, sustainability and , therefore, in competitiveness, of the Port of Malaga.
