Trieste, Italy (PortSEurope) July 28, 2017 – Data from the first half of 2017 confirm a trend of considerable growth of Trieste Marine Terminal S.p.A. in terms of TEUs handled and rail traffic at the Molo-VII terminal. A substantial increase (almost +20%) in TEU was moved by the terminal during the first semester of 2017 (compared to the same period of 2016) and the month of June
saw a 32.2% increased on June 2016. Rail traffic registered a 64.4% monthly growth leading to an overall increase of +56.8% in the rail transport volumes for the first semester of 2017, compared to last year’s figures for the same period. Rail traffic biannual increase is mainly due to the services offered to central and eastern Europe: Austria +23%, Hungary +98%, and Germany +32%. Source: Trieste Marine Terminal S.p.A.
