Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) June 19, 2018 – The management committee of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) have approved an update of the program agreement, signed in 2008 between the Liguria Region, the Province of Savona, the Municipality of Vado Ligure and the former Port Authority of Savona, concerning the Multipurpose Platform and destined to minimize the environmental impact of the work and allow a redevelopment of the coastal strip concerned.
The program agreement confirms the investments to be paid by the AdSP, including the hydraulic safety of the Segno stream, the construction of the new port back traffic as well as the arrangement of the areas in the Port Vado area, including the interventions on the road inter-municipal, fast-track for a further €36 million ($41.68 million) investment. Investments to complete the interventions already implemented, such as the overlap on the Aurelia, the acquisition of the buildings in the Gheia area, the first phase of the railway plate have already been completed in agreement with the AdSP subsidiary VIO (Interporto di Vado I.O.).
The management committee has also approved the renewal of the shipyard concession to San Giorgio del Porto SpA for twenty-five years(expiring in December 2042) for the repair, transformation, ship dismantling and other related operations.
