
Albania ports report total traffic down over 41% in March

Durrës, Albania (PortSEurope) April 28, 2020 – In March 2020, Albanian ports handled 254,384 tonnes of cargo, down from 432,833 tonnes in March in the previous year, equal to a fall of 41.2%. The reduction is due to the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis. In the first quarter of 2020, total traffic was 943,311, down 9.8% on the same period of 2019 ( 1,045,304). In the first
three months of 2020, passengers handled in Albanian ports was 126,000, with a decrease of -17.0% compared to the first quarter of last year.
