Albanian ports see total cargo down -4.0% on 2019

Durrës, Albania (PortSEurope) February 8, 2021 – In the last year, Albanian ports handled a total of 4.28 million tons of goods, down -4.0% on 2019. The annual decline is the result of reductions of -9.8%, -8.0% and -10.5 % of volumes handled respectively in the first, second and third quarters of 2020, while in the last three months, there was a recovery of +
14.0%. In the last quarter of 2020, freight traffic was 1.18 million tons, compared to 1.04 million in the corresponding period of the previous year, while passenger traffic was 84,000 people (-64.0%).
