Algeciras Port To Send Delegation To Costa Rica To Promote Refrigerated Cargo

Algeciras, Spain (PortSEurope) September 13, 2019 – Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Algeciras (APBA – Port Authority of Algeciras), together with port community companies, is to send a commercial delegation to Costa Rica, one of the main business partners for refrigerated merchandise at the Spanish port.

Costa Rica sends pineapple, cassava, papaya, chayote, pitahaya, bananas and grapes to Europe via Algeciras.

The delegation, to be joined by the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion (Extenda) and the ITI Funds, will be led by APBA president, Gerardo Landaluce, and bring 14 companies to the Buyers Trade Mission 2019 (BTM), organised by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer).

The BTM will be attended by Costa Rican exporters looking to develop commercial relations with Algeciras port.

Currently, the port offers two direct services with Costa Rica operated by Maersk and CMA CGM in alliance with Marfret. The connection is made via the new Moín Port and with a stop at the APM Terminals Algeciras and Total Terminal International Algeciras terminals, respectively.
