Ancona port closes cruise season with traffic increase

Ancona, Italy (PortSEurope) November 8, 2018 – Ancona port closed the cruise season on November 8, recording a total of 38 calls, 20 of them of the MSC Sinfonia ship.

The last call, of the Oceania Cruises’ Nautica ship, a classic and elegant cruise vessel, arrived from Venice and will depart to Split, in Croatia with 670 passengers and 400 crew members.

The 2018 season of the cruises marks a result with a double-digit increase while the operators of the sector are already at work for the summer of 2019.

“It was a nice season for cruises in the port of Ancona. We believe that the people who have arrived aboard these ships left with a smile after knowing the beauty of this city and other places in the Marche region,” the president of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico (AdSP – Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority), Rodolfo Giampieri, said.
