Vado Ligure, Italy (PortSEurope) May 23, 2019 – The container terminal of APM Terminals, whose construction has now reached 85% and which will enter service on December 12, is expected to generate a very significant number of jobs and, in the medium and long term.

All this will take place also thanks to an evolution of the partnership with  China’s Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Company (ZPMC), the company that provides APM Terminals with the lifting equipment that will be used in the terminal, also taking care of its maintenance.

The details of the recruitment plan and the employment agreements signed in recent months were explained in Vado Ligure during a press conference organised by APM Terminals, in collaboration with ZPMC Italia.

Currently, APM Terminals Vado Ligure SpA directly employs 77 people and on the ZPMC Italia platform it employs a further 18.

With the opening of the new terminal, thanks to a massive recruitment plan, at the end of the year the workers of APM Terminals and ZPMC Italia will rise to 267, a number that goes even beyond the 237 that were foreseen by the framework agreement on employment signed in December 2018. Initially, only a part of the quay and the yards of the new terminal will be operational.
