Autoridad Portuaria De Balears Receives Digital Certifiction

Palma, Mallorca, Spain (PortSEurope) August 11, 2019 – Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación (AENOR – the Spanish Association for Standardization & Certification) has granted Autoridad Portuaria de Balears (APB – Port Authority of the Balearic Islands) certification for its management system for documents, in accordance with the UNE-ISO 30301: 2011 standard.

APB is implementing a strategic electronic administration plan (2015-2019), promoting digital transformation with the aim of streamlining administrative procedures with full electronic operation and zero paper, and to achieve an electronic, interconnected and transparent administration.

The transition to a fully digital environment is both a challenge and an opportunity. To address these needs, the APB opted for the certification in ISO 30301. This standard recognizes the fulfillment of the requirements demanded regarding established policies, objectives and processes of document management, as well as its evaluation and continuous, specific improvement. the requirements to establish, implement, maintain and improve the management system for documents to both public and private organizations.

The document and archive management platform is the key pillar on which the electronic administration model proposed by APB is based. In this sense, integrated electronic administration solutions have been implemented, such as an electronic services catalog or the Electronic Bidding Portal , among others, with the final objective of incorporating all business applications into the document management model.

In reference to the Document Management System (SGD) it should be noted that following the approval of its own policy whose purpose is the complete digital transformation of the organization , the SGD was integrated into the two systems already certified by the APB, which are the of Quality (ISO 9001: 2008) and Environment (ISO 14001) that are based on the principles of customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, continual improvement, factual approach to decision approach of decisions based on evidence and the maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.

Obtaining this certificate is the confirmation of the firm and determined purpose of the APB towards digital transformation based on an effective and efficient management of electronic documents and records, as well as an important milestone on the road that began in 2016.
