Barcelona port awards €23.8 million contract to ACS

Barcelona, Spain (PortSEurope) January 26, 2017 – Barcelona port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Barcelona) has awarded a €23.8 million ($25.5 million) contract to a consortium led by civil engineering company Actividades de Construccion y Servicios (ACS) for the construction of a platform for the lifting of ships. The construction of the platform will last for about two years and will be operated by Marina Barcelona
92 (MB92), a company in which Barcelona port authority holds a stake. The platform will have enough capacity to lift vessels with a weight of up to 4,000 tonnes. ACS participates in the consortium via its subsidiary Dragados. A total of 70% of the capital of MB92 is in the hands of Turkish conglomerate Dogus Holding. ACS, Actividades de Construcción y Servicios, S.A. provides construction and related services in Spain, rest of Europe, North America, South America, the Asia Pacific and Africa.
