Barcelona, Spain (PortSEurope) February 14, 2019 – Barcelona port has consolidated its average workforce above half a thousand people. After closing a historical year in traffic and income last year, the number of employees has risen slightly.
In 2018, the port authority had an average of 534 workers, 1.7% more than in the previous year. At the end of the year, the figure was 528 people. With the exception of 2016, when it dropped to 513 employees, the average workforce has increased slightly in recent years.
The main area of activity in the port of Barcelona is that of offices, with 354 employees, port Police has 151 personnel and, finally, the maintenance area consists of a team of 23 people.
