Cartagena, Spain (PortSEurope) July 11, 2019 – Bergé, a multimodal logistic services provider, has invested in machinery, warehouses and equipment for the handling of agrifood and fertilizer bulk in its logistics centre in Cartagena port.
Starting this week, Bergé has a new warehouse of 11,000 m² for agrifood products, designed for the storage of cereals and vegetable flours, with a capacity of up to 85,000 tons.
The company has also acquired a new Gottwald mobile crane with a capacity of up to 128 tons, a new double body hopper and eight hydraulically operated nozzles, to improve loading of trucks from ships.
A new Volvo loader , a Verstegen ladle and three new Granali aluminum bathtub semitrailers have also been added to the company’s equipment capacity.
With these new investments and improvements, Bergé is positioned as one of the most important operators in the port, making available to its customers more than 46,000 m² of warehouses, two cranes and seven machines for the proper management of their products.
