Bilbao, Spain (PortSEurope) June 27, 2019 – Bilbao port has completed a project for the expansion of its container terminal, which has involved an investment of €10 million ($11.4 million) by CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal.
The project expands the area for unloading containers via rail from 13,950 square metres to 41,800 square metres, in addition to having four tracks conditioned to accommodate trains with a length of up to 550 metres and improve operational efficiency by 45%.
The official opening was attended by the president of the government of the Basque Country, Iñigo Urkullu; the CEO of CSP Spain, Sun Kai, and the president of the Bilbao port authority, Ricardo Barkala.
CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal is part of CSP Espana, in turn part of COSCO Shipping Ports Limited.
