
Bilbao PortLab will participate in the B Accelerator Tower (BAT)

Bilbao, Spain (PortSEurope) January 24, 2022 – Bilbao PortLab , the initiative to position the Port of Bilbao in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, will participate in the B Accelerator Tower (BAT), a innovation and entrepreneurship center based in the renovated Bizkaia Tower, which will connect companies Basque companies with the main innovation and entrepreneurship hubs in the world. BAT is an initiative of the Basque Government, the
Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and Bilbao City Council to turn the Basque Country into an entrepreneurship and innovation benchmark. Thanks to Bilbao PortLab joining BAT, the innovation and research hub promoted by the Bilbao Port Authority and integrated into the Bilbao Port and Ría Foundation will be connected to more than 140 international nodes and will be able to collaborate with the startup community, companies, investors and technology partners, as well as with port companies, in attracting and generating innovative projects in the logistics and port field. Bilbao PortLab will form part of the ecosystem of leading public and private entities in the business and innovation fields, top-level agents in the energy, fintech, communications and technology, industry, infrastructure, mobility or the food-tech that, together with technology centers, universities, sectoral agents, investment agents and accelerators of projects attached to B Accelerator Tower will come together to develop new innovative solutions that respond to the challenges of each sector together with startups and to attract and promote the talent of professionals. Thus, BAT will facilitate the most intensive projects in technological innovation and more sustainable business models, the concentration of different types of complementary agents, as well as the availability of a portfolio of value-added services for each agent by experts from the private world and with the maximum public support through aid programs and policies that favour the start-up and investment of innovative projects.
