Bordeaux, France (PortSEurope) March 14, 2019 – Port Autonome de Douala (PAD – Port Authority of Douala) has signed an agreement with France’s Bordeaux Port Atlantique which Douala hopes will expand its traffic with the French Atlantic port.
The agreement was signed by Cyrus Ngo’o, director general of PAD, and Renaud Picard, deputy general manager of Bordeaux port.
The agreement covers the promotion of trade between the two institutions, development and the improvement of the city-port relationship. It also includes the commercial, logistical and industrial aspects of port activity, the development of relations between the different partners making up the two port communities and the planning of port development.
Bordeaux will help PAD in the development of the master plan for the port, the monitoring of tides and, through the provision of optimal management solutions for the natural water resource for navigation.
Finally, the PAD and the Port of Bordeaux agreed on the control of funds for surveys, dredging, hydrography, support in the development of a sector plan for environmental protection.
