
British Ambassador of Albania visits Durrës port

Durrës, Albania (PortSEurope) June 10, 2020 – The British Ambassador of Albania, Duncan Norman, has paid a visit to the port of Durrës, to meet with the head of Autoriteti Portual Durres (APD – Port Authority of Durrës), Pirro Vengu. During the meeting, the diplomat was introduced to the port capacities, measures against the pandemic and its economic impact. After reflecting on the reforms undertaken in
the Port of Durrës, Pirro Vengu, emphasized the role of the port authority in coping with the emergency, showing stability in all logistical capacities of freight transport during this period. He acquainted the Ambassador with the steps taken by the Durrës Port Authority. Appreciating the initiatives for good port administration, Ambassador Norman announced that the British Embassy will make available to APD all the expertise of British agencies in the field of integrated border management. At the end of the meeting at the APD premises, the British delegation stopped at the Western Terminal and the Container Terminal, where they got acquainted with the port operations and investments planned for the improvement of services and the increase of processing capacities.
