Santander, Spain (PortSEurope) June 13, 2018 – Galicia and Salamanca will be the names of the two new ships that Brittany Ferries will incorporate into its fleet, in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
The names have been chosen by the Brittany Ferries staff in an internal contest, the company said.
Both vessels will connect the ports of Santander and Bilbao with the port of Portsmouth, in England, routes in which passenger traffic has grown 80% in the last ten years.
The ships are the second and the third that the company will incorporate after the Brexit, as the delivery of the first, which will carry the name of Honfleur and will operate between Caen and Portsmouth, is scheduled for 2019.
Brittany Ferries is based in Roscoff, Brittany, in northwest France.
