Burgas, Bulgaria (PortSEurope) August 6, 2018 – Bulgaria’s Maritime Administration has identified and stopped an improper use of two Russian barges in a terminal of Bulgaria’s Burgas port. The vessels Morvena 1 and Morvena 3 were used to provide ship-to-ship cargo operations of heavy equipment on board other Russian ships. Vessels that do not travel under the flag of an EU Member State should be given special permission by
the Council of Ministers for such operations, according to the provisions of Bulgaria’s legislation. There has been no such license because it was never requested, the Maritime Administration said. Source: Maritime.bg Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2018.
