Cartagena Port Holds Conference To Analyse Brexit Effects

Cartagena, Spain (PortSEurope) March 15, 2019 – Cartagena port authority held a conference to discuss the effects of Brexit for all procedures associated with trade with the United Kingdom or the administrative processing required for imports and exports of specific goods such as livestock or fresh fruit.

The president of Autoridad Portuaria de Cartagena (APC – Port Authority of Cartagena), Joaquín Segado, highlighted at the opening of the conference the commitment to promote this type of meetings. “One of our objectives is to listen and know the needs of the port community and facilitate their work,” he explained.

According to Segado, it is about addressing the issues related to the operations that take place in the docks from all points of view: administration, consignees, transporters and others.

“The conference is carried out within the strategy of the port to promote training and specialisation of the port community, and aims to establish recommendations that improve the functioning of the sector,” he added.
