Castellón Port Handles Largest Amount Of Clay In Its History

Castellón, Spain (PortSEurope) November 9, 2018 – Castellón port has welcomed the unloading of 73,978 tonnes of clay from Ukraine, the largest amount of this material that has been received to date in the port.

The cargo left the port of Yuzhny in the vessel Tiger East, one of the largest ships in the world for the transport of clay, with 225 metres in length and 14 metres draft.

With this, Castellón port once again surpasses its own record of clay discharged from the ship, which was registered in December last year, with the unloading of 58,900 tonnes.

So far this year, 1,684,830 tonnes of clay have been unloaded in the port of Castellón, which have been transported in a total of 167 vessels, which amount to almost 2 million tonnes of gross tonnage (GT).
