Castellón, Spain (PortSEurope) November 29, 2018 – Castellón port expects to break its annual cargo traffic record this year, handling more than 20 million tonnes, the president of Autoridad Portuaria de Castelló (APC – Port Authority of Castellon), Francisco Toledo, said.
This will exceed the previous record of 17.9 million tonnes, set last year.
Castellón port is growing five times faster than the national average this year, or by 15% versus a 3.1% rate for the Spanish harbour system, Toledo said.
The private investments in the port are also increasing and are expected to reach €73 million ($83 million) in 2018.
