Ceuta, Spain (PortSEurope) May 20, 2019 – Ceuta port plans to shortly launch a package of measures to encourage and capture transshipment of containers, which is very important in neighbouring ports such as Algeciras and Tangier Med. The harbour wants take advantage of its “privileged” geographical situation as a “logistics port” in the Strait of Gibraltar, and be “prepared” to capture the traffic before the
“imminent” increase in new traffic that will be generated in the area. This has been one of the issues addressed in the last meetings held with national ports agency Puertos del Estado and the “contacts” with operators of the sector have already begun, in order to identify their “needs from the technical and economic point of view,” the port said.
