Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) June 14, 2018 – Mar Chao, commercial and business development director of Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia (APV – Port Authority of Valencia), is participating in the Forum of International Cooperation of Ports of the Maritime Route of the Silk in Ningbo, China.
The objective is to promote synergies among the member countries of the new Silk Road, bringing together the members of the port logistics sector who have joined the Belt and Road initiative and the Belt and Road for International Cooperation forum.
Among them, port authorities from countries such as Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Canada, the United States or Slovenia, including, as well as several shipping companies stand out, among which COSCO, Maersk, MSC and CMA CGM.
Mar Chao, who has participated as moderator of one of the round tables of the forum on port development, defended the strategic importance of Valencia port for the Chinese market saying that APV has increased its commercial relations with Chinese port facilities in the last two years.
Specifically, just over two years ago Valencia port connected directly with 53 Chinese ports and at the end of the first quarter of 2018 it maintains connections with 83 port facilities.
