Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) July 1, 2019 – The Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Planning has awarded €1.718 million ($1.95 million) contract to a consortium of Consejería de Fomento, Infraestructuras & Ordenación del Territorio to repair damage to the west bank of the Carreras River in Punta del Moral, in Ayamonte, Huelva.
The companies will repair damage in the dike cliff caused by the storms and carry out specific actions on the slope to the east of the dam where degraded areas are detected. That dam protects the mouth of both the Port of Isla Cristina and Punta del Moral. The work will takes six months.
The work will guarantee optimal conditions of navigability and safety vessels that use the port facilities of Isla Cristina and Punta del Moral.
Ayamonte is a town and municipality located in the province of Huelva, near the Guadiana River.
