Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic received representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, led by EBRD Vice-President Pierre Heilbronn, at the Court of Auditors – August 30, 2019
In addition to the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zdravko Maric and Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Marko Pavic also met, with whom EBRD Vice-President Heilbronn previously met and held bilateral meetings.
Prime Minister Plenkovic expresses satisfaction with the cooperation with the EBRD so far, which is reflected in the €3.8 billion of funds that the EBRD has so far approved for financing 210 projects in Croatia in the fields of transport infrastructure, energy, shipbuilding, tourism, local infrastructure and environmental protection, SMEs.
There were also positive economic trends in Croatia in terms of further GDP growth, stability of public finances and budget surplus, as well as the return of the credit rating to the investment level (according to credit rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Fitch).
Plenkovic and Heilbronn also discussed the new EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, as well as Croatia’s upcoming EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2020. In doing so, the EBRD has been recognized as an important partner in the pursuit of common job-oriented priorities, growth and competitiveness, employment with a particular focus on youth, cohesion, security and EU enlargement.
In this context, Heilbronn also announced a summit meeting in South East Europe organized by the EBRD in February 2020 in London.
