Limassol issues delays Total hydrocarbon exploration

Limassol, Cyprus (PortSEurope) January 24, 2017 – Total S.A., the French energy company, has informed the Cypriot government that plans to drill for hydrocarbons in the Cypriot exclusive economic zone, Onisiforis in Block 11, have been delayed from this April until June. The delay is due to uncertainty surrounding the location of the company’s onshore support base at Limassol port. Over the last few months
Total and E.N.I. S.p.A. of Italy have been affected by issues around onshore locations, with the companies receiving encouragement to locate operations at Limassol. Agreement allows Total to use port facilities until 2018, but there is not agreement covering a further period. Source: Cyprus Mail Copyright (c) PortSEurope.
