Damietta Port Sees Increased Cargo Traffic In November 2017

Damietta, Egypt (PortSEurope) December 27, 2017 – A monthly report issued by the Damietta Port Authority (DPA) shows that the number of vessels handled at the port in November 2017 was 238, up 21% on the November 2016. Both container and general cargo vessels recorded a rises (27.25 and 61%) and dry bulk vessels saw a decline of 15.2%.

Total tonnage handled was 3.05 million, up 14.7%. General cargo was 325,851 (-7.9%), dry bulk 1.24 million (-9.2%), liquid bulk 29,196 (-21.7%), special cargo 93,147 (+32.4) and containers 1.36 million (+63.8%).

Imports were 49,656 (+56.6%) and exports 51,632 (+62.7%).
