DFDS to take over Sète port-Pendik, Turkey, service

DFDS To Take Over Sète Port-Pendik, Turkey, Service

Sète, France (PortSEurope) July 10, 2019 – Danish ferry operator DFDS is to take over the ferry service between Sète port in France and Pendik, Istanbul, with the service to be operated by subsidiary U.N. Ro-Ro. The service was previously operated by Ekol’s Alternative Transport division.

In December 2018, DFDS and Ekol Logistics DFDS and Ekol Logistics agreed to significantly expand their cooperation. The agreement covers sea transport of trailers between Istanbul in Turkey and Trieste in Italy and DFDS expects it to increase freight volumes in the Mediterranean by around 30%.

Olivier Carmes, port manager of Sète, said that DFDS was very interested in the multimodal and rail connection at the port.
