Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) September 14, 2020 – Diamond Line, owned by China’s COSCO Shipping Lines Europe GmbH, is to launch the VAX service linking the new deep-sea container terminal in Vado Ligure weekly with the Greek port of Piraeus. The feeder service will prioritise connecting to the port of Piraeus with the main lines to and from the Far and Middle East, India, Oceania, Turkey
and the Eastern Mediterranean. The Greek port is operated by Piraeus Port Authority, also part of China’s COSCO Shipping Ports Limited. The service represents an important step in the growth path of the Genoa terminal after the start of operations which took place last February and assumes particular importance also in light of the economic situation caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis. Diamond Line GmbH is a feeder and shortsea carrier in Europe. The company, with a registered office in Hamburg, is a 100% subsidiary of Cosco Shipping Lines Europe GmbH. Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
