Limassol, Cyprus (PortSEurope) January 24, 2019 – DP World Limassol has reported that its has acquired a range of new equipment as part of an ongoing upgrade of the Limassol port infrastructure.
A new, high-tech mobile harbour crane, and a reach stacker have been added, to speed up operations and upgrade of the infrastructure at the Multipurpose port terminal.
The new equipment will be used for the loading and unloading of general cargo, break bulk and oil and gas equipment, enhancing the efficiency, productivity and safety of port operations and reducing vessel turnaround time. In addition to making loading and unloading faster and easier, the operator compartment of these new machines has been ergonomically designed to provide good sight lines, better working comfort and environmentally friendly with low emissions and noise levels.
The General Manager of DP World Limassol, Charles Meaby, commented “The addition of the new equipment is an integral part of our commitment to provide high quality trade enabling services in Cyprus.”

DP World Limassol has the concession to exclusively operate the multi-purpose terminal in Limassol. P&O Maritime, a DP World subsidiary was also awarded a 15-year concession to exclusively provide the full range of marine services in the Port of Limassol.
The terminal comprises three multi-purpose quays, include break-bulk, general cargo, Ro-Ro, oil & gas services and the brand new passenger terminal.
