
Dragados SA-Construcciones Elfidio Pérez consortiun wins Tenerife port contract

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain (PortSEurope) May 4, 2021 – The president of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Carlos González, and José Luis Rodríguez Prada, representative of the Dragados SA & Construcciones Elfidio Pérez consortium, awarded the “Maritime Defense Works and Management of the Puddles Zone of the Functional Area of Valleseco, phase 2 ”, have signed the contract for
the execution of the works, which already translates into the beginning of the countdown for the effective start of the executions within a maximum period of one month. During the signing, which was also attended by the director of the Tenerife Port Authority, Aitor Acha; Elfidio Pérez, managing director of the company of the same name, and the head of Infrastructures of Ports of Tenerife, Javier Mora, the assistants showed their satisfaction for the step taken and the social commitment they have acquired in its materialization. The representatives of the awarded joint venture announced that the fitting out of the auxiliary facilities and offices on site will begin soon, having begun the drafting of the corresponding health and safety plan that will be available in less than a month. The project of “Maritime Defense Works and Management of the Puddles Zone of the Valleseco Functional Area, phase 2” has an investment of €16.6 million, of which the Port Authority of Tenerife contributes €1.5 million ; the Cabildo of Tenerife, four; the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, €5.7 million, and the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, €5.4 million. The project execution period will be 24 months. The works that will begin to be executed in a maximum period of one month are divided into three groups of actions, specifically the Playa de Charcos, Pantalanes and Defensas Marítimas.
