
Durres port-Pristina rail link agreed

Durrës, Albania (PortSEurope) October 6, 2020 – The governments of Albania and Kosovo have signed four agreement including one for the construction of a railway line between Albania’s Adriatic port of Durres to Pristina, the capital of land-locked Kosovo. Last July, the prime ministers of both countries agreed that Kosovo will have a customs point in Durres, which will be administered by Kosovo as its own
territory. With a new railway connections, it makes Durres the “de facto” port of Kosovo. the two towns are over 250km apart. The announcement by Albanian prime minister Edi Rama prompted a reaction from Serbia, which claimed that this was prove of a desire by Rama to create a “Greater Albania”. Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
