Civitavecchia, Italy (PortSEurope) November 29, 2018 – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) has started receiving a €195 million ($221.7 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The project will allow the port authority to complete part of the works planned for the enlargement of the port of Civitavecchia and the creation of a new port at Fiumicino.
The first tranche of €50 million ($56.9 million) was paid on November 29.
The financing will be used for the extension of the breakwater, the construction of an access road and the development of a new basin and a parking lot at Civitavecchia port. At Fiumicino, the new port will be used for passenger/cargo ferries, cruise ships and fishing.
