Venice, Italy (PortSEurope) December 3, 2018 – According to an announcement by Fincantieri SpA managing director Giuseppe Bono during the presentation of the Nieuw Statendam, a new boat built on behalf of Holland American Line, he said that the company would invest in Porto Marghera, Venice, to sustain European standards of operations.
The Italian shipbuilder aims to expand the production facilities, with projects aimed at lengthening the quay, to be able to build ships up to 150,000 tons. Moreover, the shipbuilding workshop will be partially demolished, allocating the area to the pre-assembly sections. In an area that will be served by a new crane.
