Gas storage facility at port: Feasibility study and EIA procedure is needed

Brindisi, Italy (PortSEurope) January 15, 2021 – Environmental organisations have requested the execution of a feasibility study and an environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the construction of Edison’s LNG storage facility at the Brindisi port. In a joint letter, organisations Forum Ambiente, Salute Pubblica, Legambiente, Italia Nostra, Fondazione di Giulio, Medici per l’Ambiente, WWF and No al Carbone said the decision to build the storage
facility at Costa Morena Est is inappropriate, as it does not take into account the strategic role of the site as a railway connectivity hub. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2021.
