Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) August 17, 2018 – Genoa port will be able to operate at its full capacity and meet the demand of cargo and passenger traffic despite the Morandi bridge collapse, the Italian association of maritime agents, Federagenti, said.
Based on analysis of the traffic flows and the forecasts for the coming months, Federagenti can confirm that the port will be able to operate at full capacity by adopting a series of immediate measures able to compensate for the damages caused by the break in the motorway connection.
“This is also due to the intense and constructive work carried out in these days in coordination with the institutions and local authorities who have worked with the trade associations to find the best solutions, allowing the rapid restoration of the full operation of the railway link,” Federagenti said.
