Genoa reports increased in October 2020

Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) December 3, 2020 – In October 2020, the Ports of Genoa registered commercial traffic of 5,211,723 tons, -4.9% compared to the same month of 2019 and +21.7% compared to September 2020. The volume of containers operated in the month, which does not yet include the traffic generated by the Bettolo terminal, continues along a negative trend with a variation of -4%. Conventional
traffic recovered (-3.5% against -8.3% in the previous month). Solid bulk closed the month with a clear rise to +31.1%, compared to the decline of 46.7% recorded in September, while the traffic of liquid bulk records a decline of 13.9% compared to last October (-51.1 % in September 2020). The passenger sector again reflects the Covid crisis, registering a -79.4% after 3 months of slight growth.
