Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) April 12, 2019 – Autoridad Portuaria de Gijón (APG – Port Authority of Gijón) recorded a net profit of about €7 million ($7.9 million) in 2018, a figure that the port authority expects to increase by almost €2 million ($2.3 million) if the claim against the breach of minimum transports by Enagás succeeds.
The port moved in the first quarter of this year 4.65 million tonnes, 0.83% less than in the like period of last year. The strong growth of containers stands out, more than 20% in tonnage, while iron and steel products traffic also grew.
In contrast, thermal coal and steel decreased by 13% and 39%, respectively.
