Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) November 23, 2018 – Gijón port has opened the bidding process for the first phase of the paving works at the back of the Ingeniero Marcelino León dock, 38,000 m² tendered at €1.8 million ($2 million), an action that will be carried out next year.
The project includes the paving of the first 3.8 hectares of the total of 10.8 hectares that has the esplanade of the extension of El Musel that has been incorporated into the wharf.
The company that wins the contract will have a period of six months to carry out the work. The works will have to be completed before 2020. The remaining surface will be paved in two other phases. In addition, electrical and water and lighting networks will be installed.
The dock is operated by European Bulk Handling Installation (EBHISA).
